Indian Consulate San Francisco Apostille

If you plan to conduct business or to deal with personal matters in India, you maybe asked to provide a California Apostille on various documents including but not limited to a Power of Attorney.   A checklist will generally be provided by your contact in India (Attorney, Family, Financial Planner, etc..).

A common document we Apostille is a General Power of Attorney for India.  This document helps expedite your wishes without you having to actually travel to India.  Before your documents qualify for Legalization through the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, you’ll need to take the following steps in order to help expedite the process.

A General Power of Attorney requires the signer of the document to meet with a local notary anywhere in California.  The notary will authenticate the signers signature on the document and will attach a document called a California Acknowledgement.  Be sure to work with an experienced notary in order to avoid any delays.

The document will then need to be sent to our office for fast same-day processing with the California Secretary of State’s Office.  Once processed, your documents will arrive at your location the following business morning by 10:30am.  Your documents can now be taken to the Consulate General of India.
